Yeah, a little late to be posting this but hey, I’m guessing this flew under a lot of people’s radars as it did mine. Experimental music is always a mixed bag, but those nuggets you find in it are sometimes truly exceptional. To start off the new year Yan Jun, one of the city’s premier experimental artists is hosting the Miji Festival 2013. Two nights of “Improvisation, Experimental Music and Noise” – and described as “short sets of collaborations…sounds as materials…mechanical vibration, electronic circuit, acoustic instrument, body action, simple application, old media art” – whoa, sounds pretty trippy.
