On The Scene: Hot Cat Club 22-09-2012

\"dwaas3a\"

Yeah, I know, give me shit – I saw Dwaas only two months prior at Hot Cat Club – so what if I’m repeating myself. I was looking for a slow night out, and that’s what I got.

I dig Dwaas.

I dig the scrappiness of their sound, yet how it all manages to come together so fluidly. I dig how everyone gets their chance to shine, even Fei Fei who more than once gets on that bass like a cat in heat. I dig Michael’s whine of a voice and how it complemented by, sorry, Joewi’s more smoothing, “I could probably pick up any lady out there tonight” vocals.

I dig how much ‘jamming’ plays into the structure of their shows, cause solos rock. I dig how even a barely legal power punk band can even get shown up by them (as was the case tonight). I dig how I still can’t put my finger on who’s sound they’re amping, thou I believe I’m getting closer. So in summary, Dwaas, not too bad. Enjoy.
