Grunge antics, prog rock gloriousness, embracing avant-garde doom tunes, and a heck ton of glow sticks. Just your average Nasty Wizard evening of mayhem as the Beijing label served their latest opus – a split between the dark sprawling noise collective DFA1989 and Berlin based noise thrashers Cuntroaches. For the occasion, the band, made up of plenty of familiar charcters of the Beijing scene, whip out everything in their arsenal – from horns to bass; from cello to glow sticks? Yes, as per usual things got weird in the best kind of way. Support came in the form of instrumental prog-rock slayers SHA! And grunge rock rascals Hind Brain, always a treat to see perform.
