Yisu

Yisu Band, founded in June 2014, is composed of nine young Mongolian musicians who met each other when they studied at Beijing Mongolian language & Culture Community. The music performed by Yisu Band is inspired by Mongolian folk music and integrated with Rock, Religious Music and World Music. Yisu represents nine in Mongolian. Nine is the most auspicious number in Mongolia which also symbolises infiniteness, happiness and longevity. It is said that Genghis Khan was bathed in nine spring waters after his birth. He began his independent life since nine years old and became Khan at 27. Once he failed in an expedition and prayed to the Lord of Grassland Tenger. He then heard massive roar and found a huge spear landing on the tree. Genghis Khan commanded to offer sacrifices to Tenger with 99 sheep and make the tassel of the spear with the bristle of 99 horses. He regarded the spear as his badge and called it Suld. Since then, nine is adored by Mongolian because of Genghis Khan.40 RMB
