Watermelon Can, Morbid Goats, Kangkai, No.95 Factory

On Sunday, May 24, the Beijing-based High School Students Rock Union will be hosting a charity High School Rock Extravaganza at Yugong Yishan. The proceeds of the event will go entirely to their fellow students from Danzhai Middle School of Guizhou province who are in dire need of basic improvements to their school in order to have a chance for a better future.

An impressive lineup of bands could be easily convinced to be part of the show for the good cause, with Watermelon Can, Morbid Goats and Kangkai feat. No.95 Factory Band as feature acts as well as appearances of Sleeping Forest, Band of the No.2 High School Attached to Capital Normal University, Beijing No.35 High School Band, No.4 High School Band, SDFZ, and No.2 High School Band.

Watermelon Can with their original, feel-good punk songs are already veterans throughout Beijing’s live venues and have played MIDI and Strawberry festivals among others several times. Morbid Goats are last year’s newcomer of the year playing strictly original, highly energetic grunge rock and have established themselves quickly as a very successful regular act in the live music establishments of Beijing. Kangkai, the punk rocker, has just come back from his all-China solo tour and will be backed by a new band, the original No.95 Factory Band.

Be prepared for an evening of fun and music and don’t forget: It’s For the Kids!

The event starts at 17:00, tickets are RMB 50.-/60.-
