Volume 9 of School Bar and Converse Rubber Tracks Free Show series!
Come one come all for an evening of 70\’s inspired punk and rock n\’ roll! Sure to be a fun show with great music, unending chaos, and a non-stop flow of drinks and craziness!
After completing their album release tour in September of last year, Beijing\’s own Bedstars have stayed rather quiet. As they write new material, the band has only played a couple shows, and none since early November. You never know what\’s going to happen when the Bedstars take the stage, and with a few months of pent-up energy waiting to be released, this has the makings for a classic Bedstar\’s show!
Also set to play are 70\’s punk rockers the Pumpkins! Hailing from Xinxiang in Henan province, this foursome also released their debut album last year. However, due to work and schedule conflicts, for the first time since the Pumpkins formed, the band did not make it up to Beijing for a show last year. The Pumpkins were also busy last year as they traveled to Berlin to record with Marky Ramone, fittingly, as part of a Converse Rubber Tracks recording project. It shall be an exciting night as the Pumpkins return to their School Bar home away from home and debut some of their new tunes in Beijing!
Rounding out the bill are alt-rock band and Beijing fixture, The Molds. After not playing shows for seemingly most of 2015, The Molds resurfaced with a show at Mao this past New Year\’s. A staple of the early music scene and later the D22 era, Molds signer Liu Ge crafts songs like most only wish they could. The Molds have earned themselves a loyal following over the past decade, and for those who have not seen them before, this is the perfect opportunity to check them out.
Put on your drinking shoes, and get ready for a chaotic night of rock n\’ roll!
