This fall us magic wand twirlers over at Nasty Wizard Recordings will be raising hell with an onslaught of releases in the next coming months and we couldn’t be more excited. The latest to emerge from the tape factory is quite the firecracker – Beijing resident electronic drone wiz, Noise Arcade, whose hypnotic, layered, brain hemorrhage inducing, dopamine releasing soundscapes have terrorized and seduced virgin ears for years here has teamed up with another electronic explorer, Taiwanese solo audio/visual controllerism artist Sonic Deadhorse. I had the pleasure of checking out Mr. Deadhorse back in Dalian last spring and trust, dude’s got talent. A ‘one man band, laptop geek, combining live looping and controllerism (the art and practice of using musical software controllers) for playing glitch/idm/drill’n’bass tunes live’. So yeah, the T1000 crossed with acoustic one-man band whose past life was a club junkie looking for the next high. Luscious artwork from Beijing illustrator Anya Chalina rounds out the package. Grab one of the fifty tapes this Saturday, October 3rd at 8-Bit where Noise Arcade will perform live alongside a bunch of old video consoles. Oh, and there’s be a special ‘Nasty Wizard’ cocktail for those of you brave enough.
