Meridian Borderline presents AMBIENT_VISIONS, a live audio-visual performance by Hong Qile, Thruoutin, Song Song + Man Lin, Mao Weng Weng and Ding Xin, in which sound and visuals will be manipulated simultaneously. Images and music will be created on an equal footing, without any primacy to one medium or the other.
Get ready then for an intense sensory experience.
About the artists
毛嗡嗡 mao wengweng
Mao Wengweng designs and studies digital media interaction, with a strong focus on visual design, dynamic image design, as well as the creation of audio-visual interactive media. Since 2012, she has organised and participated in many audio-visual interaction experimental workshops and artistic projects. She is now involved, since 2013, in such digital media/spatial interactive projects as the Palace Museum Digital Department.
洪启乐 Hong Qile a.k.a loga
Cross-media artist, creator of brand Bwave and organizer of Pixel Echo, a monthly audio-visual art on-site programme.
Taking noise as the cutting point, he undertakes audiovisual interactive artificial creation. His works include on-site performances, installations, and online art.
His latest electronic music album, Pixel3, featuring noise and glitch elements, will be released this year.
thruoutin
An American-born electronic producer and multi-instrumentalist, thruoutin has been based in China since 2009. His work varies from project to project, but often revolves around the combining of different genres, with a focus on organic and digital sounds. He has brought his music to Canada, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and various cities in the US and throughout China. Besides self-releases, thruoutin has also been featured on such labels as Jingweir (Beijing), Huashan (Shanghai), 87Fei87 (Beijing), LABAREDA (Lisbon), Senzu Collective (North Hollywood) and Aud-Art (Pittsburgh).

薛鳗 Man Ling
Man Ling is a member of the Biology-Recycle Lab and a music producer. She focuses on music as a meditative medium, which she also experiments with as a means for achieving somatic and mental health. She engages in much improvisation and sound sampling. Her performances aim at creating new soundscapes and atmospheres.
宋松 Song Song
Song Song’s works mostly revolve around integrated visual and sound improvisation. He favours guitars, effectors, together with radio signal interference devices.
丁昕 Ding Xin
Sandy Ding is an experimental filmmaker and musician. He’s also a faculty member of CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts) and BFA (Beijing Film Academy), and last but not least, he’s member of the local noise band \” Liquid Palace\”.
