Guren (Mognolia) + thruoutin

Temple hosts two members of Mongolian folk collective Guren. That\’s Mongolia the country, not the province. Tonight\’s gig features Khongor on murinkhuur (horsehead fiddle) and Altan-Od on khomeii (Mongolian throat singing) + percussion. Both members are classically trained, with Altan-Od the musical director of the Children\’s Theater in Darkhan, Mongolia. Even with their classical training, the group loves to actively engage in all sorts of musical collaboration. For this one they\’re collaborating with Beijing-based producer and pipa strummer thruoutin. FREE
