XP hosts a night of electronic noise, featuring Berlin/Shanghai dark beatsmith Pan Daijing, Horacio Pollard, SoundSpade and Ryan Jordan. Beijing hard rock quartet OOC, one of the city’s rising stars, get down and dirty for a showcase at School. Get your Mongolian folk rock with Oska alongside ska masterclass Mr. Honey all at Beijing’s favorite drinking hole, Temple. Canadian sing-songwriter brings her musical chops to Jianghu Bar alongside ex-Rustic frontman Li Yan, bringing his acoustic flavorings to fruition. This summer, Eman Lam & Huyi Liu bring their incredible voice to Yugong YishanLive Wild arranges family friendly music for all. Say NO! to drugs this ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’ (oh snap!) with this charity show at Mao Livehouse featuring some of hardcore finest including Chaos Kills The Pain, Stay Gold, Own Up and Cat Learned Dog. Meanwhile, catch Soul Pollution at Moroccan hotspot Caravan, The Groove Collective at Modernista, Hugh Reed & the Electric Shadows at Hot Cat Club, Uncle Hu at 69 Café, and Xia Jia Jazz Trio at East Shore Café.

SATURDAY JUNE 27th

Making the trek up from Wuhan, pure breded rock n rollers Aberration, led by former SMZB and Los Crasher guitarist Liang Zhan, channel the spirit of decades of rock gods at School alongside manifesto pot stirrers Bastards of Imperialism, the ever unhinged The Diders, and Britpop loverboys Secret Club. Beijing-based label Sinotronics returns for an XP evening of progressive electronic music in collaboration with I: Project Space and their current exhibit, wangwangwang. Live music from FAR/∞, Menghan, and Hong Qile, plus installations by participating artists. Chengdu post punk up and comers, Hiperson fresh off the release of their debut on Maybe Mars, return to Beijing as part of their nation wide tour and be properly drop their much loved album, No Need For Another History at Mako Livehouse. The Yellow Hutong Weasels will be stringing up their bows, fiddles, banjos, guitars, and double basses to bring you a taste of bluegrassy, hillbilly America. Grunge night – no sure all these bands qualifty but all you need to know is that Jajatone is a band I’m dying to see and Nakoma are just killers on stage – at Temple, of course. It’s an eclectic bunch of rockers tonight at Mao Livehouse including street hardcore kids Laisee, ska mainstays Mr. Honey, indie poppers Hot Line, and much more. Cozy Snail Club on Daxing Hutong invites much beloved folk singer songwriter Dongzi to the stage. folk rock veterans Hoochie Coochie Gentlemen grace the cozy stage at Jianghu Bar. Irish folk masetros Blackwater hit up Caravan, while Violette & the Hunters perform at Modernista and the Li Gaoyang Jazz Quartet can be found at East Shore Café.

SUNDAY JUNE 28th

It\’s Hip Hop Night at School Bar once again! Come get down with some of the nastiest and fastest flowing hip hop artists including Biggie Song, DangGuoQing, AKA GangTou, AKA JiaoAo, MC Bang, DJ Lilrow, and Cai Zi. Frontman for post punk gothic band IDH presents his solo project, Hollow Shadow at Mako Livehouse – all types of weird. Traditional Irish folk tunes to wash down that whiskey with Blackwater at DDC.
