Upcoming: The 4th MIDI Music Awards

So the nominees for the 4th MIDI Musiuc Awards are out – it’s an interesting look at what’s hot in the eyes of the establishment that is MIDI – and I got to say it’s not an overtly terrible list – in fact, it ain’t too shabby – I’m a bit impressed. I’m curious to check out Black Head and Lure’s latest, am happy to see that New Artist list with some of my favorites, dig the instrumental category, love all the ladies being nominated, and glad Second Hand Rose is still making room on that best live performance category, cause seriously, they rocked it twice this year so far. What do you think? Agree? Disagree? Sick of MIDI’s nearsighted view of the music scene, or do you think they’re right on the money? Really might have to check this one out come Sunday…grab your tickets over here – they’ll be 100 RMB at the door. It’s not all talk and back patting – Nova Heart, Escape Plan, Yaksa, Dongzi, Chuanzi, Brain Failure, Ordinance, and DJ Youdai will be performing in between that mumble jumbo. All I know is that after finding myself at Temple three nights in a row last weekend, I gots to avoid that place like the plague.
