Alright folks – been holding out on talking about these festivals that are coming up quite soon, as it takes time usually for Modern Sky and MIDI to get their shit together, and as typical this year’s Strawberry Festival, which will be held from Monday April 29^th to Wednesday May 1^st at Tangzhou Canal Park, gets their act together first. Last year, I did three for three at Tangzhou Canal Park and well I’m itching to keep my distance from the more ‘fashionable’ of the two festivals, they have a pretty solid lineup, if not for international fare, then at least for domestic. It’s nice to see some of the up and coming bands get later starting times, and it actually looks like they’ve spread out goods wisely this year. Particularly digging the early post rock on day one, and the one-two combo punch of Hedgehog and Second Hand Rose on day two, and the one-two-three combo of Re-Tros, Omnipotent Youth Society, and XTX on day three. Still though, I’m getting a deep sense of déjà vu looking at the lineup. Choice, choices, choices. Here’s the three day lineup. Tickets are 120/50 RMB per day or 320/400 RMB for the three days.
