Women have always been an integral part of Rock and Roll. From the legendary Janis Joplin, Patti Smith to Chinese female rockers like Jiang Xin and Cobra Female Band, all of them are glamorous and maverick. They became history makers when they started to play guitars and sing. They told the world that they are women with electric via music. If you have listened to Jimi Hendrix’s ELECTRIC LADYLAND, you must know the meaning of electric lady, and that’s how the festival name came from. From March 7th to 8th 2016, YEMA Live combine with Douban Artist to organize the first pure female music festival in China-Electric Lady Festival in two days in Yugongyishan and School. 21 acts (Female musician or female leaded bands) with various music genre will be presented at the festival with headliners like Jiang Xin, Li Xiaoyun, Gemini, Gril Kill Girls, The Power Powders, Twinkle Star and South Acid Mimi Dance Team. It will be the first time to have a collective presents of female artists to Chinese audience.
We hope there will be more girls with electric take part in music in the future after Electric Lady Festival. It will be the exclusive festival for the new generation urban women, and it will also be the first festival in the brand new year of Monkey. Welcome to the live!
