OTS: China Drifting Festival (28.03.2014)

As some f you may have noticed the video uploads have been a bit on the slow side as of late. Straight answer: I was sick and tired of shooting shoddy videos and have been looking to up my game, in terms of editing and the amount of people filming. A work in process for sure, one that may never turn out to be fruitful. But hey, had to be done. Anywho, he’s the latest batch of videos – this one from the China Drifting Festival held back at the end of March featuring the likes of Swiss indie rockers One Sentence. Supervisor, Pet Conspiracy, Duck Fight Goose, and the unstoppable post punk trio Re-TROS, who continue to knock it out of the park, each and every time.

How friggin awesome is that song folks? Thanks to my crew. And sorry for the lack of youku, as my PC is busted and don’t feel like buying a new one. Whopdeedo. Anyone got an extra one lying around – cause if not then you best whip out that VPN for some Vimeo action.

Duck Fight Goose kicked things over will an atmospheric, electronic-inebriated set that felt like a jazz rehearsal laced with psychedelics. Very low-key nature to the bands’ new material, and while they didn’t exactly wow audiences that evening, I intrigued to hear more out from the Shanghai group.

One Sentence. Supervisor know exactly what they’re going for – melodic rock that wavers between psychedelic wave and Coldplay-esque indie rock. And they nailed it. Straight drove it home.

Pet Conspiracy – you know, a part of me is compelled to criticize the bands’ arguably shallow Euro-trash brand of rock and roll, but I can’t. They’re just too much damn fun – it’s circus event and entertainment is of the utmost importance – and Pet Conspiracy knows exactly what we what.

A neon-soaked blast of crass, brass, ludicrous, honeyed electro rock and I’ll be damned – I hope they never change their ways.
