Now it’s not enough to just wet your whistle with new releases —- nooo, now we gotta get you excited for said upcoming releases with these ear teasers. Here are the latest tunes and singles from retro Chengdu rockers Mr. Chelonian, pagan folk horde Tengger Cavalry, reggae outfit Longshendao, and hardcore group Spill Your Guts.

That’s the latest single from Chengdu-based indie ska hybrid Mr. Chelonian from their upcoming album Acceptance, their sophomore effort after their award-winning self-titled debut – the title track definitely hits some darker marks. The band just set off on a massive tour of China so expect them to swing through Beijing come June. They also have another track up entitled \’Where Are You Going?\’ – expecting good things out of these folks.

Happy Mother’s Day!! That’s pretty much the extent of my festive spirit but Mongolian pagan folk outfit Tengger Cavalry has gone ahead and released a new track in celebration of all the grassland mothers out there – entitled Hometown Song (故乡谣)’ and featuring guest vocals from world musician singer Nandin, it’s a lovely little song that holds back from the bands usual rock em sock em mentality.

We have two new tracks from China’s premier reggae outfit Longshendao, who just recently signed their souls over to Modern Sky. Their newest album isn’t due out for till later this summer, but the band has let loose their first two tracks from it, ‘Love Lights’ (点亮爱) and ‘Rays’ (霞光), the latter which finds more and more layers of electronica coated across the bands’ signature Eastern philosophy reggae jam. The bands hits up Beijing in June before heading to Canada to hopefully smoke the finest buds this earth has seen.

The latest single from hardcore trope Spill Your Guts, out of Shanghai, featured on a spilt EP with Russian hardcore band, Broken Fist, to be released soon, is up for grabs over at bandcamp, and it’s a loud one – entitled ‘Slip and Fall’, it’s three minutes of sinking faith conveyed through bombast guitars, drums, and vocals. Sometimes we all just need a little hardcore in our lives.
