Wisdom Teeth 智齿 – Dance on the Street街头仪式
Bittersweet post punk via Hangzhou – The Wisdom Teeth are the latest rock outfit to have disintegrated as quickly as they arrived. Formed in 2014, the band quickly caught the attention of Maybe Mars who had the band trek up to Yang Haisong’s Psychic Kong studios to record their first and sadly final album. What remains is a lively, dynamic, and lyrically rich debut that finds both the beauty and innocence in the dark corners of post punk. And while the band wear their influences very strongly on their sleeve, there’s no denying the fizzy distorted charge and overall catchy appeal of what the band left behind. Wisdom Teeth – we hardly knew ya.

Duck Trick 鸭听天 – Yuwuqing义乌情
Space Fruity Records capsulize the glorious ramshackle mayhem of Yiwu’s Duck Trick. The experimental/improvisation collective from the Zhejiang Province are in fine form on their debut, a compilation of works selected from their deep sea of improvisational recordings dating back to 2017. ‘Spiritually oriental’ in nature and tone, the band’s avant-garde free-jazz musical style employ a variety of styles associated with both Western and Eastern psychedelic music, all the while keeping a firm hand on the improvisational elements that make them so dangerously seductive when performing live. Groovy.
