Wang Wen 惘闻 – Seven Thousand Hows 七千里又怎样
Seminal post rock outfit Wang Wen, fresh off the international release of their 11th studio album as well as their China-wide tour, released this sublime documentary (shot by local film production outfit Geek Shoot Jack) entitled ‘Seven Thousand Hows’, About the band’s 3 day journey to Nepal in 2016. Completed after the release of their album “Sweet Home, Go!”, the Dalian group headed to Kathmandu to attend a charity show in support of people who suffered from the 2015 Gorkha earthquake. Besides being a nice journey into the city’s local culture and music scene, the piece captures the nature of ‘charity’ in surprising ways.
