Some oldies, some newbies, and plenty of visual stimuli to get you through the day. We’re back with our weekly roundup of music videos to feast your eyes on including a nightmarish fairy tale from shoegaze favorites Skip Skip Ben Ben, a studio romp from indie rock veterans Hedgehog, and finally another animated trip from the Do Hits! crew.

The Do Hits! crew who are producing some of the electronic scene’s most cutting edge sounds with an affinity for bass and tribal and traditional Asian sounds shows off their latest MV for label mate Jason Hou. Created by label head and animator Howie Lee, the video for ‘Build 造’, continues establishing the label’s new age meets future wave aesthetic. Look out for Jason Hou’s EP Origin to hit the webz by the end of July.

Skip Skip Ben Ben, the Taiwanese band whose stint in Beijing still warms my heart, released their stellar LP Mirror in Mirror last year, and accompanying that release, was this terrifying nightmarish music video for the title track. Shot in Italy by art collective Ground’s Oranges, dreams and nightmares come to life for a little girl, as a boogeyman (which vividly reminds me of the boogeymen from 1934’s Babes in Toyland) terrorizes her and her sleep-derived psyche. Wonderfully shot, it captures the carnivalesque sound and tone of the sound perfectly.

Noise rock veterans Hedgehog, may be taking it easy this year, after celebrating their ten year anniversary last year with the epic compilation, b-side double LP Neurons last year. Nevertheless, the band still managed to sneak this adorable MV for that releases single ‘O Man’. The music video has the band’s star drummer Atom play dress up for the camera, donning outfit after outfit (including her birthday suit). And some dude in a extremely cheap looking, yet disturbing mask. Pretty juvenile, goofy, and delicious fun from a band that doesn’t seem to slow down.
