MV Weekly: Higher Brothers feat. Phum Viphurit, Los Crasher

Higher Brothers feat. Phum Viphurit – Lover Boy

One of the artists that everyone seemed to have on their mind while I was visiting Thailand was Phum Viphurit – the young Thailand singer and songwriter and Asia’s newest Neo Soul sweetheart. The sunshine boy has already been picking up acclaim from around the world and the remix from Chengdu super rap team Higher Brothers is just one part of the puzzle. The video for the hip hop group take on ‘Lover Boy’ – the singer’s most popular single – may not feature Phum on screen did it’s a sure indication the kid has a bright future ahead of him.

Los Crasher – Smoking Hot Baby

Beijing based Los Crasher seem to have emerged from another era – more specifically the late 70s and early 80s when glam metal, and old school hard rock where at the height of their power. It’s surreal, sleazy and pretty friggin rad when all is said and done. The band, who have been stomping around Beijing for well over a decade get the proper music video treatment, chock full of flood lights, tight jeans, harmonica, and bandanas all shot in glorious black and white. It would have fit right in on MTV between Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith.
