Catch up is the name of the game – after a holiday stint and taking it from the man allc weekend it’s time to get back to business by blasting your eyeballs with these visual treats including fresh cuts from pop punk outfit Finger Family, folk sensation Song Dongye, world music beauty Yunggiema, and Berlin synth wave duo Hyenaz. Check it.

Here\’s a spectacular animated video for Song Dongye\’s newest single ‘Zebra Zebra’ and boy is it a beautifully animated piece of work. The video is a perfect representation of that transition from winter to spring – in this case, the transformation occurs in Hardin. Looks like a watercolor-based animation but with technology these days, who knows. Stunning stuff.

One of my first festival experiences four years plus back was catching pop punk outfit Finger Family opening for the MIDI, their first ever appearance on the big stage. Oh how far they\’ve come – their recent single, ‘Wings’ (Positive Youth Version), has been getting massive play and the band has gotten around to putting out this excellent MV for it. Ace stuff. Nice locales, smooth editing, a little back story peppered in and overall it captures that fleeting youthful energy which the band is so good at emoting. Damn good song too.

A few weeks back, I showed off some stunning black and white video work for Bhutan folk singer Yunggiema – well another video from that session has emerged and it’s every bit as good as the first. This one is for a song called ‘Green Tara’ and well the singer still remains the awe-inspiring focus, the song and accompanying video definitely highlights the other members a lot more prominently. When are we check these folks again already?!

Time again to plug the upcoming show and massive China tour following, for Berlin synth wave duo Hyenaz, by presenting their MV for their single ‘Sister’. It gives a pretty good idea as to what to expect come this Saturday, September 14th at School. Trippy ass music to move your ass to.
