Been slumming it these past few days in wifi no mans land – so bear with me. The new residence is just about at operational capacity so we’ll get those calendars, new releases, and live videos up and loaded by weeks end. Till then, why not forget the fact that I’m been slacking by soaking in these recent viral features that have been earning their keep in cyberspace, including the latest from psych folk outfit The Harridans, punk rockers Bastards of Imperialism, old school 80s rock boys Los Crasher, and a interview with Spilt Works founder Nathaniel Davis. Get at it.

From local news pushers BON TV comes this nifty ten-plus minute interview with freak prog rockers The Harridans who have recently been making waves with their extremely fun, extremely versatile brand of psych folk which brims with infectious energy. It’s a pretty comprehensive look at the band, and expertly shot and edited. Dig in.

Another up and coming band that’s been making the rounds are the four-piece anti-establishment punk group Bastards of Imperialism, which features Shanzhai Laowai and Yangchong of Shochu Legion. Already an avid editor by day and night, the video was put together by the Shanzhai Laowai himself and fits right in with the bands rugged, crusading punk charm. Check out the Bastards perform Saturday, September 20th at XP.

If you haven’t heard Spilt Works has a pretty damn impressive fall lineup coming up – check it out. Well for a little more insight on the promoters, China Daily has put together this piece on one of the brains behind the team, Nathaniel Davis, who gives a behind the scenes look at the company and his entry into the industry here.  Basic stuff, but it’s always nice to get a sense of the people giving the industry it’s due.

Last we got a tour promo from tight jeans wearing, high kick screaming 80s rock group Los Crasher, who have been giving Beijing its dose of old school rock and roll for years now. The video is for their upcoming tour and it takes concert footage from various shows, as well as interviews and studio rehearsals and mashes them together – and as an added bonus – a sing-a-long to their single ‘Rebel Radio’ Yippie!
