And like that I\’m back —- sorry for the lack of updates for the past two weeks – Africa will do that to ya. No hard feelings. And with that it\’s time to get back to business – first up, the calendar has been updated with all of July\’s happenings about town so check that out. And expect, plenty of uploads from my end this week – a lotta stuff on the back burner. Till then, let\’s get into our Monday routine and feast of these new music videos from across the city and below. Catch the latest piece of goodness gracious from Shanghai party rock outfit Round Eye, as well as a series of vids from garage rock duo Luv Plastik shot by local photographer Jeff Yiu. Check it out.
Round Eye have done it again – the visceral no holds barrel party rockers out of Shanghai have released their latest music video for \’Suntan\’ – a psychedelic cautionary tale for all you ladies out there in China – get a sun tan and you\’ll never be sought after. It\’s a pretty hilarious video with some truly disturbing and trippy imagery. Hat tip to Alessio Avezzano and his team for nailing the tone of the song. As someone else mentioned, definite Primus vibes from this baby. The band is off in the good ol\’ US of A on an epic tour with Daikaiju. Highly recommend checking them out if your stateside.
Garage duo Luv Plastik, led by two Dans, Daniel Lenk and Dan Taylor, have slowly been making their mark on the scene and for good reason – they\’re a tripped-out, tight, loose-lipped explosion of rock and roll that kicks ass. Photographer Jeff Yiu, who previously shot material for Noise Arcade (check out this ace interview from AWEH here), recently compiled a series of music videos to accompany the bands bombastic sound and can be found online now. Digging the aesthetics of these — stay tuned as I\’ll have some live videos to accompany these music videos accompanying Luv Plastik. Yeah, going meta on your ass? Check back later. Till then munch on these.
