Like a bat out of hell, Beijing based DIY label and zine Jingweir returns with their first release in quite some time, a split between Beijing based, American producer thruoutin, and Kyoto based, Japanese producer, YTAMO. Over two years in the in the making, it’s a slice of warm, transcendent indie electronica that finds solace in the rhythms and sounds of everyday life, “turning electronic music into a venue for the organic, the natural, and seasonal” (PantherNOW).
Side A finds the Beijing based producer exploring a narrative of memories from the artist’s time in America where he was raised. Using vocals, bass guitar, field recordings and beats, thruoutin rebuilds the past utilizing the present, gazing back from the perspective of now.
Side B has the classically trained Japanese artist Ryoko Araki aka YTAMO paint a vibrant portrait of sound that combines her faint feather-like vocals over a diverse range of instruments and bell-like resonances that send listeners into a blissful daze.
