In Pictures: Yichang Improptu Group (Temple 07.04.2016)

Traveling Yunnan impromptu collective Yichang hit up Temple earlier this month and brought their rotating rooster of seasoned musicians (not all from Yunnan mind you) including folk guitarist Liu Junlin, improv drummer Fusong, tap dancer Fengzi, beatbox artist Jiahonglong, as well as Bu Dian (of Shanren) and A Shui. And even some unexpected visits from folks like MC Dawei. An eclectic group of music makers coming together to jam and improvise and follow their musical instincts. And while the numbers of players on stage threatened to overwhelm the sound at times, there’s no denying the charm and joy in seeing top notch performers cut loose on stage. More pictures below.
