A couple weeks back, Nasty Wizard Recordings figured it\’s about time Cassette Day became an official holiday so we rolled out an inauguration for the day showcasing two events, one right after the other. Things got intimate at FruityShop where Dan Taylor, Noise Arcade, and Extremist Religious Group (making the trek down from Dalian) told stories, twisted some knobs, and brought forth some of the experimental scenes most vibrant, minimalist, and earthy sounds for an autumnal afternoon. Soon after, things got riotous at DDC, where armed with chuanr and tapes, we presented some of the city\’s best newcomers – Juju, Fake Weed, Lonely Leary, and The Eat who crack whipped the crowd into a frenzy. Really stellar sets – again proving how much difference a year can make in some of these young bands. So yeah —– massive success! Tapes might have been sold. It\’s all a little fuzzy. Luckily, our main man Stechs (who runs Précis Magazine) was able to capture some of the mayhem alongside myself – though I spent most of the time manning the grill (never again!). Enjoy the feast of photos!!!!! Till next year!!!
