Blackwater

What do you need for St. Patrick\’s Day? Beer…check. Irish folk rockers Black Water….Check!!

There shall not be a St. Patrick\’s Day celebration in all of Beijing more authentic or rowdy than what is sure to be experienced at School Live Bar on this evening.

Known for whipping the School Bar crowd into a drunken frenzy with their covers of songs by the Pogues and their own traditional Irish drinking songs, Black Water returns to School Bar for a very special St. Patrick\’s Day showcase show!

\”Blackwater is an international band based in Beijing, China, playing Irish music consisting of singer Desmond McGarry, Daniel Brustman on guitar, Zoe Wang on the accordion, and Nico Torrese on the tenor banjo and the mandolin. Their music draws from the rich traditional Irish repertoire (The Limerick Rake, The Foggy Dew, Wild Rover, I’ll Tell Me Ma, Spancill Hill, John Ryan’s Polka…. and much more). From beautiful ballads to frenzied jigs and reels, Blackwater is probably the most authentic Irish music band one can listen to in Beijing. They played a special concert for the President or the Republic of Ireland in June 2010.\”

Sure to be a drunken fun night!

And best of all, free!!
