Hong Kong bittersweets via Chengdu, Russian psychobillies invading the Mainland, and Chinese rappers meeting one of the world’s top rappers – it’s the latest batch of music videos featuring Mosaic, The Meantraitors, Chacha, and IN3.

Last week, we brought up Xinxiang punk outfit Pumpkins’ run-in with Marky Ramone as a pop of Converse Rubber Track series giving up and coming artists a chance to strut their stuff in some of the world’s gnarliest studios. This week we’d like showcase rapper wunderkinds Chacha (one of Shanghai’s most soulful dark entities) and In3 (one of Beijing’s most fearless button pushers) who were both invited to Stankonia Studios with Big Boi from Outkast for a recording session. Which is pretty bodacious. Gonna keep an eye out for that track.

Chengdu dance no wave rockers Mosaic finished off their nationwide tour earlier this fall — finishing it off with a stint in Hong Kong. Which always acts as the jumping off point for the band’s music video ‘You’ – an old school jangly single that goes down nice. Compiled of the band’s live show (not complete without the singer’s ridiculous sailor hat) and their time in Hong Kong. Dig the lo-fi, romantic filter many Mainlanders view Hong Kong with.

Back during the summer legendary psychobilly outfit The Meantraitors out of Russia, toured around China for the very first time. As is often the case with first time visitors, they were wise enough to capture the entire China tour on video that includes the band landing in Beijing during one of its early summer monsoons before performing at DMC (RIP) and School later that week. The band’s other stops include Wuhan, Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenyang, and more, and from the looks of it, our Beijing crowds look pretty damn weak compared to what the crowds were bringing elsewhere.
