Gig Recap: Cassette Store Day (Yue Space 2017.10.14)

Holy shit what a hell of a day. Cassette Store Day only comes once a year and I’m utterly thankful for that – cause I don’t think my body and mind could handle such madness on a daily basis. Side A kicked off the festivities with an array of vendors slinging prints, artwork, accessories, zines, and so much more. It was a haven of activity, friendly faces, daytime brewskis, and some very fine tunes courtesy of Mu Miqu, Noise Arcade, Fløøød, and Dan Taylor. Side B came barreling through a couple hours later with top notch sets from the always eye-catching Guiguisuisui, the old school rock and roll charm of Electric Lady, the riotous uproarious feminist punk of Ugly Girls from Shanghai, and a chaos filled set from friends Lonely Leary, where the crowd decided to kick into overdrive and act in the most heathenish ways – it was glorious in the best possible way.

——–

I could go on and on but I’ll keep it short and simple – thanks to everyone who turned up, to everyone who gripped a tape (we unloaded over 100!), to everyone who lend a hand, to Yue Space for setting up the event, to the Nasty Wiz kids, and of course the fans and bands who made the event possible. Till next year!!!!
